In this lecture Srečo Dragan (ALUO) and Borut Batagelj (FRI) will layout the concept of successful networking and connectivity between university studies and laboratories. Through documentation about individual interactive projects by previous masters students, they will present the production module New Media Object.

Srečo Dragan

is known for his pioneering achievements in new audiovisual media, especially video. In 2007 he received the Jakopič Award. A professor of video and new media at ALUO since 1991, he focuses his own creative projects and educational efforts towards the realization of interactive robotic Internet art installations and 3D computer animation.

Borut Batagelj

, assistant at the Faculty of Computers and Informatics (FRI) at the University of Ljubljana, member of the Laboratory for Computer Vision. His research is aimed at artificial intelligence, machine learning and pattern recognition. Active member of ArtNetLab and a member of the Slovenian Pattern Recognition Society.

From simple media guerrilla-like actions to complex extended architecture and interactive sound and light installations.

Josef (Seppo) Gründler, Ph.D.

, sound and media artist, “tinkerer” of software and electronics, plays guitar, electronics, software. Head of MA programme “Media and Interaction Design” and professor at FH JOANNEUM, visiting professor of sound design at Donau-University Krems, member of board of directors of the Institute for Media Archeology, president of the Society for Dissemination and Distribution of New Music, works since 1982 in the field of new media.

Daniel Fabry

since 2004 has been teaching at FH JOANNEUM in the Media and Interaction Design department. Since 2003 he has been a member of the artists’ collective monochrom, an art-technology-philosophy group based in Vienna and Zeta Draconis since 1993. monochrom operates as an unpeculiar mixture of proto-aesthetic fringe work, pop attitude, subcultural science, context hacking and political activism.

Thomas Radeke

aka Rah'Dick gained his first experience with computers at the age of 12. Since then his enthusiasm for everything that lights up, blinks and beeps can hardly be contained. Since 2008 he has been research associate at the FH JOANNEUM for Information Design, Media and Interaction Design, and Exhibition and Museum Design.
